An Avid Learner, This I Am…
So, I did my first swim suit shoot (you try saying that five times fast) a little over a week ago. “Firsts” are always so much fun :) I had l’honneur of working with my talented friend and aspiring model, Nina Kelly. We were hoping to get a few shots for her portfolio, which requires a few bathing suit ones. I’m still amazed she hasn’t been contracted yet. Anyone who knows her will attest to her inward and outward beauty. Someone must explain to me how she can be in a two-piece and still exude such modesty and class!! Talented, I think so :)
Sidenote: These last two days have been so encouraging. I was blessed with a handful of lovely encounters that’s got me all charged up! The most exciting news for DeepEnd Imagery would hands down be booking our first destination wedding—in Thailand!!! Asa and I have got lots of ideas and we’re ready to put them into practice. I can’t thank the Man above enough for giving me such a zeal for learning :)

“Laugh as much as you breathe and love as long as you live.”
Happy Monday!
This was taken at a wedding shower I was hired to take pictures at. The engaged couple, Monika & Nick invited their closest friends and family to celebrate with them :) I could not resist putting up these la-la-lovely line of laughing ladies. Each happy expression shows such genuine delight and excitement for their friends. I love it!!! Laughter is indeed a beautiful thing!

This past Tuesday I woke up with tons of ideas. I had a 4pm shoot with a beautiful family of three + one little one on the way :) When I had my consultation with Angela via text messaging, she had no particular expectations for the shoot and totally handed the reins over to me. That meant I could do whatever my little heart desired!!
I couldn’t decide until the very last minute which route to take it. I finally went with a “laid-back/countryside” styled setup. Since Angela’s a simple gal, this was perfect! I stopped into Marshalls, my neighborhood thrift store, took some items from my bedroom and off to the forest preserve I went.
I was there a half hour early to setup. While waiting for the family, I ended up having a conversation with two random guys who were curious to know why I was tying 16x20 frames to tree branches, lol. I explained that I had a maternity shoot and had some ideas I hoped would work. They were super sweet and we went from talking about photography and art to war, acceptance, and loving others (oh, the conversations I have sometimes).
They left me with this word of encouragement: Keep trying new things. Thinking outside of the box will get you places.
Well said random guy. Really glad I didn’t run away from you :)
Enough storytelling…above are a few of my favorite shots of The Niu-Diep’s
Special thanks to Tran for being the assistant/Mekhi-sitter/hair & makeup artist. She’s a superwoman :)

I really miss updating my tumblr.
I randomly met a photographer yesterday and we got to talking. We exchanged opinions on lighting, editing softwares, different workshops, etc. We both had to be somewhere, but spoke as though there was no tomorrow. I believe there’s a natural sense of ease that develops when you meet someone who shares your passion. We even spoke about keeping our photography genuine. We both agreed that when your art becomes your job, it can easily lose it’s sense of purity.
I pray that I stay true to what photography has been for me. Starting with this blog, it’s a big part of what’s got me where I am with DeepEnd Imagery.
I really wanna maintain a personal portfolio here. Even if it’s just for me.

“A smile is a language even a child understands.”
I absolutely LOVE photographing little ones. I had to have smiled 20+ times while editing this picture.
Speaking of editing, it’s a week before I leave to Vietnam and I boy do I have lotsss to do…
A few shoots to edit and finalize, two shoots this weekend, and needless to say, packing a three week long trip into one suitcase ain’t easy.
It doesn’t help that junk food has been a faithful companion in my busyness. Had potato chips and french onion dip for both breakfast & dinner today—and that was before my 2hr nap. Feeling…quite……sluggish.

Engaged…
to be his wife, to forever be his helper…to be married :)
Years ago, I watched as a sixteen year old boy stood in front of dozens of fellow youth to speak God’s truth. Young yes, but his influence was undeniable. I knew close to nothing about him at the time, but instantly cherished his quiet strength.
Now a man, and my fiancé, he continues to awe me with his growing character. He possesses a blend of great qualities that I have yet to see in any other man. For this reason and many more, I cannot be more proud to be the apple of his eye :)
After he surprised me on one knee, we shared tears of joy, and as a wave of peace overcame us, we unexpectedly, yet sweetly sat in silence for several minutes. I wanted to remember this forever—so yes, the photographer in me propped the camera up on a nearby floor sign (a completely unstable makeshift-tripod), set the self timer, and hit the shutter :)
I’m so glad to have captured this moment in my life. I look at this shot and revisit the many emotions I encountered that night. I pray that from now until forever, this picture will continue to serve it’s purpose :)
Guys, I honestly can’t stop smiling…
